SAS to fly non-stop to popular Texas festival
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is launching what could be the hippest route of 2018. On March 8 and 12, the airline will fly between Austin, Texas and Stockholm Arlanda for SXSW (South by Southwest), the world's largest festival for technology, film and music.
This renowned festival started in 1987 and has now grown so large that SAS has decided to invest in non-stop service to Austin from Stockholm Arlanda for the festival. The airline announced this in a press release.
The first departure will be on March 8 next year at 9:15 a.m. from Stockholm Arlanda, and there will be a total of four flights, two departures and two arrivals. SAS will thus be the first airline to fly a Scandinavia−Texas route during SXSW.
SXSW started out as a festival focused on music but is now much more wide-ranging, also attracting people interested in film and technology from all around the world. Along with different kinds of performances, a large number of conferences, lectures and exhibitions will be held.
