Things to do before security control at Arlanda
Viewpoint for aviation enthusiasts
The viewpoint is located on a hill beside Lake Halmsjön, on the road to Almunge/Norrtälje right at the northern end of runway 3. There is a large rain shelter on the hill with seating. On the other side of the lake, you will also find a small swimming area if you feel like taking a swim.
Halmsjörundan
If you want to get your heart rate up, there is a three-kilometre exercise track next to Lake Halmsjön. There are two starting points, one outside SkyCity and one at the Jumbo Hostel/Radisson Blu Arlandia Hotel. These starting points are marked on the map and show the distance to Halmsjörundan. The path between the starting points and Halmsjörundan is marked with road signs marked ”Motionsspår”.
It is about 1 km from SkyCity to Halmsjörundan. Jumbo Hostel and Radisson Blu Arlandia Hotel are 1.7 km from Halmsjörundan.
Dog walk area
In addition to the walk by Lake Halmsjön or along the terminals, there is a good area for dog walks outside the Service Centre on the ground floor of Terminal 5. Here you can walk up to the air traffic control tower and check out the newly landscaped open park area between SkyCity and Office One. At the entrance to Terminal 5, there is also a stand with dog poop bags.
Walking routes
There are several walking routes in the terminal area. Go outside of the terminal building and walk towards Terminal 2 and you will find an avenue with beautiful landscaping and an inviting area where you can sit down and take it easy in the shade of the trees.
A few things to look for on your walk:
Outside SkyCity, Sky Bridge, look for the air traffic control tower and a work of art by Ernst Billgren ”Jordens alla hörn”. ("All corners of the earth").
Between Terminal 5, Gate C, and Terminal 2 you will pass a blasted stone; in the background you can glimpse Arlanda's VIP area.
Note the Sweden Solar System installation outside Sky City on the sidewalk - Jupiter is hanging in the SkyCity Sky Bridge towards Office One at street level. Information about the Solar System installation can be found on signs in the Sky Bridge on the way to the site where Jupiter is located.

Have a coffee at Jumbo stay
Jumbo Stay is a unique hostel within walking distance of Arlanda inside a converted 747-200 jumbo jet. Of course, you can stay the night here, but it is also a great place to sit down and have a cup of coffee in the café. The cafe offers a selection of light fare, and you can take the opportunity to learn more about the history of Jumbo Jet and browse through the souvenir shop. Jumbo Stay is located between road 905 and road 273; exit towards Gate 1, Norrtälje and Almunge. We are located opposite Radisson Blu Arlandia and Flight Academy.
Get your vaccinations
Airport Sky Vårdcentral is a healthcare clinic where you can consult with doctors specialising in general medicine, district nurses and assistant nurses. The clinic can offer assistance with blood pressure checks, injections, wound dressings and the removal of stitches, etc. At Airport Sky Vårdcentral you can also receive vaccinations to protect against various infections and diseases. The healthcare clinic also offers consultations and support.
You will find the healthcare clinic at entrance A, level 5, in SkyCity.
Exchange currency
Conveniently exchange your currency atthe airport and you are ready for the trip. FOREX offers currency exchange,as well as travel insurance, credit cards and international money transfers. FOREX has shops and currency ATMs at the airport. You will find their stores in SkyCity and Terminal 2 before security control.
