The environment

Environmental issues are a priority at Visby Airport and the airport is constantly working in several areas to reduce its environmental impact. Reductions of carbon emissions and energy consumtion are two areas in focus.

The airport's climate work is currently certified at the highest level in an international program, Airport Carbon Accreditation, which grades how airports are working to reduce their climate impact.

Visby Airport is owned and operated by Swedavia – an international role model when it comes to developing climate-friendly airports. Swedavia's goal is to have zero carbon dioxide emissions from its own operations by 2020. Swedavia's environmental work is also certified in accordance with ISO 14001.
